The 2023 Shiraz fruit has been selected from a vineyard I know well and that has had a very similar terroir to the vineyard that produced my first Shiraz in 2005 and then other vintages.

I am pleased with the result. The wine has all the hall marks of the style of Shiraz I love to make. Colour is deep brick red and the nose has forest fruits and a hint of spice. Palate is what I wanted with beautiful cherry, strawberry and the black pepper which I love in a Shiraz.

It is an elegant wine and the 13% alcohol keeps it soft and fruit driven.

THE REAL REVIEW – Deep bright ruby red colour. Fragrant and lifted with notes of raspberry and white pepper leaping from the glass. Medium weighted but has ample fruit intensity. It sings with fresh red and blue berry fruits, loads of white pepper and musk spices all bound by finely wrought tannins.
