Mint, black cherry, strawberry and meaty spice characters flow gradually towards black pepper. This is a fruit-driven wine, low in oak, with dry, spicy tannin running through the finish and good freshness throughout. Indeed this is quite different to the Mike Press wines I remember; this is lighter and fresher, spicier too. I like it. It’s excellent value.

This wine maintains its varietal character but it pushes the boundaries. It’s a solid wine with juicy red, blue and black cherry-berry flavours, inputs of lavender and decayed roses, mint and meaty spice. It feels fresh. It’s well finished. And it persists well too.

Excellent fruit flavour, the texture to match, inherent complexity and a general impression of polish. This is exceptional value at $14-ish. Peach, nougat, pears, citrus, meal and crushed fennel characters get the job done and then some. You will not find a better white wine at anywhere near this price.
